Victims of Crime Tasmania

Angela Sdrinis Legal recently achieved an award for a client who was a victim of childhood sexual abuse in Tasmania in the sum of $125,000 by way of pain and suffering together with $22,000 in respect of future counselling expenses and payment of legal costs.

The victim was sexually assaulted by 3 separate perpetrators on numerous occasions between 1974 and 1978 and has developed major depressive disorder due to the abuse.

Police have investigated the allegations of sexual abuse, but charges were not pursued in respect of any of the perpetrators.

This is an outstanding result for a victim of crime where compensation awards are generally much more limited.
